Parent-Child Relationships

Questions about sharing pricing and labor information between systems.

What is a Parent-child Relationship?

  • Parent-child relationships allow information to be copied from a primary site (Parent) to secondary sites (Child).

How do I set up a Parent-child relationship?

  • Insignia Group Customer Success will work with our pricing department to program your request to your linked sites.

How do I request a relationship?

  • The administrator of the parent site submits the request via email.
  • If a different administrator is on the child site, they submit their approval via email.

What should I include with the request?

  • The name and location of the parent.
  • The name and location of each child.
  • The areas the parent controls.
  • Will this be ongoing, or is it a one-time update?

What areas are available for the relationship?

  • Hidden Accessories (Coming Soon)
  • Featured Accessories (Coming Soon)
  • Adjusted Accessories
Note: per accessory or bulk updates.
    • Pricing
    • Labor Times
    • Labor Rates
Note: These rates are separate from the Catalog Settings.

Do you test the functionality before it is live?

      • Yes, we test the functionality before we release it live in your systems.

Am I notified as it moves through the process?

      • Yes. We will let you know the progress.

      How often is this updated?

      • Ongoing changes are updated every Tuesday and Thursday night.

What else do you think I should know before activating this option?

      • Accessory Builder
        • The child location will have zero control over any copied Accessory Builder parts.
        • Even though they will be visible on the system as accessories, the child location will not be able to see them in the Accessory Builder.
      • Pricing/Labor
        • The parent location will control the pricing/labor per accessory.
        • Any adjustments to pricing/labor per accessory the child location tries to make will reset when the transfer occurs.
        • We cannot copy the Catalog Settings, which must be updated separately for each location.
      • Brands
        • Brands are activated individually in Catalog Settings on each site to receive transferred information.
